Etna Lions fall in playoffs: Lose on the road to Chester 35-20

A return trip to Chester resulted in another loss for the Etna Lions.
On Friday, in a first round Northern Section Division 4 contest, the Lions season ended with a 35-20 defeat to the Volcanoes, which downed Etna 28-0 in a regular season contest on Sept. 13.
Etna was the No. 5 seed while Chester came in as the No. 4 seed.

Yreka High Football playoff contest: Miners lose to top seeded Eagles

The Yreka Miners ended the season with a playoff loss to top seeded West Valley in a Northern Section Division 2 first round playoff match on Friday.
The Miners, the No. 8 seed, fell to the Eagles, a fellow Northern Athletic League member, by the score of 50-0.
West Valley dominated from the start and led 21-0 after the first quarter. The Eagles tacked on another 22 points in the second quarter to lead 43-0 at the half.

Northern Section Division 6 Football Semifinals: Butte Valley earns upset win over Dunsmuir

Visiting Butte Valley shook Dunsmuir early in Friday night's section semifinal and never relinquished the lead. The top-seeded Tigers fought back, but their first loss, 25-22, was a season-ender.
Dunsmuir finished with an 11-1 overall record and an undefeated California North 8-Man League championship. But the quest for a second consecutive Northern Section Division 6 title was halted by the team that won it all two years ago.

Another successful year on the gridiron was rewarded with a postseason berth for the College of the Siskiyous Eagles.
The squad found out on Sunday afternoon that they will face the Chabot Gladiators of Hayward, Calif., at noon on Saturday, Nov. 23 in Weed at the Central Division Bowl.
This is the first time in school history the Eagles have been to a bowl game two years in a row.
COS downed Chabot in a bowl game last year in Weed by the score of 48-18 to end the 2012 [...]

Weed Cougars fall in playoff match to Biggs
BIGGS, Calif. – The  Weed Cougars varsity football team lost to Biggs 74-18 in the first round of the Northern Section Division 4 playoffs on Friday.
Weed, the No. 7 seed, finished the season at 6-5 and had a winning year for the first time since 2002 after not fielding a varsity team last year.
